Iran is Falling, Israel is Rising

Based on a lecture by Dr. Guy Bechor, translated and edited by Hillel Fendel

Iranian flags
Over the past two weeks, the world has seen seven mysterious explosions in the area of Tehran, all targeting Iran's nuclear industry, its rocket industry, and/or its Revolutionary Guards. Seven is not a few, so it's impossible to ignore them or their significance. The first one occurred at the end of June, in the giant military complex of Parchin near Tehran – a site with missile installations, nuclear factories, and more – with an explosion that was seen all over Tehran. This was followed by several more explosions, including in the famous site of Natanz; experts are saying that it could take Iran two years to make up the loss in its nuclear industry. They have been working on this project for a strangely long time, since the 90's, and it's not clear why it has never reached a successful conclusion; perhaps Iran doesn't want to.

So who effected these explosions? How much damage was caused? We don't know a lot, much remains under the radar. But why are the Iranians keeping silent? Why aren't they blaming anyone, or threatening? – Because it's convenient for them to keep quiet. This is a type of Iranian policy that we see in Syria as well: Israel attacks Iranian targets in Syria – according to foreign sources – and the Iranians remain quiet; they simply absorb it with no response, and I think they will continue not to respond in the future as well. I believe that there's a specific reason why they're not responding, and that is: the elections in the United States. They're waiting for Trump to be defeated, and for the Democrats and the "progressives" to take over. Iran feels that the Democrats will then restore the nuclear agreement with Iran, resume paying them billions, restore the Shiite axis – all this will destroy the US and the world, but that doesn't bother them – and this is what the Iranians are waiting for. The axis of evil – in Venezuela, Iran, Hizbullah, Hamas, the Muslim brotherhood, the terror authority in Ramallah (PA), China – they're all just waiting anxiously for Trump to be defeated and for the Democrats to return to power. I very much hope that the American nation will not allow this to happen, because they are a smart people, but if it does, it will cause explosive problems in the Middle East. And this is why Iran is not responding now, because they don't want war; they want to leave the status quo for just a few months until, they hope, the Democrats return to power.

Whatever unknown entity is causing these explosions in Iran understands that the Iranians are actually thus showing signs of weakness – and in the Middle East, unlike in the West, the weak side is the one who gets attacked. This is why we must never be seen to be weak. But it means that the Iranians are basically expecting more attacks and more explosions, at least until November, or maybe even January – and their entire nuclear industry can thus be destroyed! It can happen, because Iran is standing idly by and waiting – and this is weakness!

Meanwhile, we hear noises of hunger from Iran's soft underbelly, i.e., the various ethnic groups, religions, and minorities, and the terribly hurt domestic economy. With four more years of Trump, the regime will be liquidated. For it's nothing more than a one-trick regime, namely, oil. At present they're exporting, roughly, 200,000 barrels a day, mostly to China and Venezuela, in exchange for barter, not even money. Compare this to before the Trump sanctions, when they were exporting roughly ten times that amount and even more. That is, this regime has essentially nothing to offer. And therefore the government always fears that there will be an internal uprising – although it's not actually happening now because of the iron fist with which the regime dealt with the attempted uprising a year ago. People are afraid. The local currency is down to 200,000 riyals to one dollar! And there's also Corona, which has hit Iran very badly, and the country just doesn't know how to deal with it.

And so, a few more blows, such as the explosions we have seen, could strike a decisive blow. These can surely be expected, for I'm sure the entity or entities responsible for these attacks are quite aware of this. [Ed. note: Dr. Bechor is being very careful not to even hint that it is widely believed that Israel and/or the U.S. are responsible for the attacks.]

Muslim Civil War

As we have long known, the Middle East is burning. But it's no longer just the Shiites against the Sunnis, but rather each group against itself as well. The Persian Shiites of Iran have lined up against the Arab Shiites of Iraq, a country that no longer exists for all intents and purposes… And within the Sunnis, as well: On one side is Sultan Erdogan of Turkey, funded by Qatar, with Hamas and the Islamic Brotherhood, and on the other side are those regarded as moderates – though they really are not moderate at all; it's just a question of parameters – led by Saudi Arabia, together with Egypt, Jordan, and the PA that has lost itself. This inter-Sunni battle is quite extant in Libya, where Russia and others are intervening, and the US, too, might soon have no choice but to get involved as well.

Israel's great accomplishment is that for the past decade, we have not been involved in these battles; we have stayed out. This is our greatest strategic asset: we are not involved. Our own disputes are getting narrower, and we will solve our own problems, without causing an "explosion" in the Middle East – unlike the false predictions of some mistaken and trouble-making elements.

Keep in mind that even amidst these difficult times of Corona, Israel is building and expanding! It should be comforting to know that Israel is building bridges, ports, infrastructures, train tracks at an amazing pace – giving us strength for the future! Just 20 years ago, Israel was a poor country – and look at where we're at now! It is good to know that with Corona raging around us, we are guaranteeing our future.

And for the Israelis who are hearing me now from outside Israel: Why are you watching this great phenomenon from the outside? We have returned home after 2,000 years of exile – why don't you come back and take part in this great enterprise, instead of remaining in foreign countries and enriching them? A quarter-million of you have returned recently – not all will remain here, but look at how many Israelis who have not been here for many years and who are now planning to stay here! Why not join up with them and come back to the homeland? We are doing great things! Health services here are very good – in stark contrast to the the pogroms, violence and more that we see abroad. Israel is the future!
