IDF Prep Academy Visits Homesh

Cadets from the Bet El IDF Prep Academy visit Homesh

Earlier this month, cadets from the Bet El IDF Prep Academy visited the Chomesh yeshiva in northern Samaria.

In 2005, alongside the expulsion from Gaza, over 8,000 police and army forces forcefully evicted residents of Chomesh and the neighboring village Sa-Nur.

In 2009, several activists set up a yeshiva on the destroyed community's land and students have since traveled to chomesh daily to learn and maintain a Jewish presence there.

On December 16, 2021, a student of the yeshiva, Yehudah Dimentman, was murdered nearby by Arab terrorists, and in a shocking response, the government is now planning to tear down the yeshiva.

The IDF Prep Academy's visit to the yeshiva thus served to strengthen both the yeshiva students learning at Chomesh and awaiting its impending destruction, as well as the cadets themselves. As Rav Yair Rosenthal explained, the trip strengthened the cadets in their love of the Land of Israel.
