The Bet El IDF Prep Academy started the year with much excitement and anticipation. This year the Academy reached maximum capacity, with not one bed left to spare! Shana Aleph (Year 1) enrolled 50 new students, and Shana Bet (Year 2) has 40 returning students. 80 Academy graduates are currently serving in the IDF, and
Yeshivat Gur Aryeh (Bet El Institution's post-army Yeshiva program) currently has 20 Academy graduates learning Torah there. This just further shows the great need to finish construction on the new IDF Prep Academy campus, which will contain more dormitory rooms, more beds, and a larger cafeteria, to meet the ever-growing demand to attend.Inspiring Story
A student who is currently learning at the IDF Prep Academy is the only son of a single mother, so he cannot and should not enlist in a combat unit (in accordance with Israeli law stating that single sons cannot enlist in combat units without signed permission from his parent/s). When he first arrived at the Academy, he came just to check it out, intending to stay for about a week and no longer. He fell in love with the place - with the teachers, the studies, and the quality of the other students and he decided to stay. But His mother has no way to pay the tuition fees. B"H the Academy found a donor to cover his full tuition, which is $500/month, or $6,000/year. (If you too are interested in providing the partial or full tuition of an IDF Prep Academy cadet, you can do so by clicking here.) Thanks to the help of the donor, this young man has now been studying at the Academy not for one week, but for over one year! He is currently starting Shana Bet (Year 2), and just today he decided on his own to take the required steps to enlist for pilot training in the IDF next year. This is just one small example of the miracles that take place every day at the Bet El IDF Prep Academy.
